Local Races & Charity Events
Seasons of Rothrock Race Series is a grouping of four races that capture the grandeur of Rothrock State Forest in all four seasons through the disciplines of gravel and mountain bike racing. Join us for one, or all four. Spend an afternoon pushing your limit on challenging, gravel roads and fun singletrack. By participating, you’ll be supporting a community that emphasizes the fun and social aspects of racing while creating local events that belong on the national stage.
Help Centre Volunteers In Medicine raise funds for the medically underserved living or working in Centre County. Challenge yourself virtually and/or join us on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Routes Include: Century (100.3 miles); Metric Century (63.8 miles); 1/2 Metric Century (29.5 miles); 19 Mile Loop (19.2 miles); Family Fun Ride (7.0 miles); Create Your Own Path Ride (up to 18 miles).
The Trans-Sylvania Mountain Bike Epic offers ala carte style registration, in a series of steps depending on the event and category you enter. Stay where you like, eat what you like, and pay only for what you need. Get info on the 3-5 day mountain bike race in May and 2-4 day gravel race in August.
On July 2, 2023, athletes will take on their race journey from a 1.2-mile swim in Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir at Bald Eagle State Park, a scenic 56-mile bike ride through the beautiful rolling hills of Centre and Clinton Counties, culminating with a 13.1-mile run on the campus of Penn State University including a unique finish line experience for athletes inside Beaver Stadium, home to the Penn State University Nittany Lions.
The Rothrock Challenge is a 25k trail race in the heart of Rothrock State Forest. The course covers almost 4,000 feet of elevation gain through coniferous forests, blooming mountain laurel, lush rhododendron, groves of ferns, rocky climbs and descents, and multiple stream crossings. There is a little of everything packed into one amazing 16 mile adventure!
