A number of free maps are available here, but for the best resource, consider picking up a Purple Lizard map at a local bike shop! Many trails throughout Rothrock have been recently marked, so get out there and enjoy them!

Check out the MTB Project Website for some great local rides and trails, written by those who have ridden them.

Add the Nittany Mountain Biking Association (NMBA) as your local mountain biking club on Strava.

Many local rides depart from the Galbraith Gap Parking Lot, also known as the Forestry Lot, in Galbraith Gap.  Follow directions past Tussey Ski Resort into Rothrock State Forest; the parking lot will be on your left.  If you’re looking for someone to ride with, take a look at our Local Group Rides, or leave a message on our Facebook page!

If you are new to the area, also check out the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau website for other recreational ideas in and around State College.

The Nittany Mountain Biking Association encourages responsible use of our trail systems. Natural areas and some trails (such as the Mid State Trail) are designated as foot traffic only, and should NEVER be ridden on. Slow down and respect hikers, equestrians and other trail users. Respect hunters and avoid riding during peak hunting times (see the NMBA home page for announcements of these times).
