Annual Events

NMBA hosts a number of organized events every year. As soon as dates are announced for each of these events, they will also be listed on the calendar above. Until next year’s dates are announced, here are some events to look forward to:

NMBA Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day
In conjunciton with the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA), NMBA promotes Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (TAKMBD) annually (typically in October). TAKMBD is an opportunitiy for children to learn some of the basic skills of mountain biking, ride over obstacles and go on a trail ride. Parents are asked to accompany children for the event, but do not need to ride.

Spring and Fall Group Ride and Picnic
Held twice a year, the NMBA Group Ride and Picnic is a social event where group rides of varying ability levels will be led, followed by a potluck feast.

PennDOT Adopt-a-Highway: Bear Meadows Road
In 2010, through PennDOT’s Adopt-a-Highway program, NMBA adopted Bear Meadows Road. Trash clean-up occurs bi-annually in April and October.
